I don't know.  I mean, it was only plot. We don't have to do it! I swear! I just suggested something that I shouldn't have, and she's awfully unhappy now and I have no idea what to do. Auto response from SilverLeap: Decompressing. Flashbacks did not make for a good night. Finals stress does not help. | Posted Nicolai. Shit. You two worry way too much about me. *sigh* I'm sorry I'm not feeling well. I'm sorry I kinda blew you off, Bec, and I'm hiding right now. It has nothing to do with you guys. It has nothing to do with our plot (which I think is completely awesome). I normally wouldn't tell anyone, but my complete reversal at least deserves some sort of explanation. You know I work for search & rescue. We see some pretty nasty things. Maybe... a year and a half ago, we had an unexpected body recovery in the woods, right by where we'd all been sleeping the night before. Skeleton. Nothing nasty at all. But for some reason, it started to bother me. A lot. I think maybe cause she was my age; just 17, and murdered in some drug business. I started to get really bad nightmares. I mean bad. They only happen when I'm particularly stressed, which means they're a pretty rare occurrence. I kinda mentioned it to you this morning, Bec, but I had one last night. I think its cause of finals stress and everything. And it was worse than before. Usually, I'll get them after a particularly bad search, and blow it off. But, eh, all this combined kinda overwhelmed me. It's like, I'm running through the woods, and I don't know why. Cliche, perhaps. But it's a culmination of every single goddamn wooded crime scene I've ever worked at. I can name the exact locations in Oregon where each little part fits together. There's a stream in the Salmon River reserve, right past the third bridge on the main road. There's the gulley on Palmer Mill Road where we found two bodies. It's very scary. Normally, that's it though. Sometimes I can smell things. So last night there was a person. This hasn't happened before; I recognized him, but I don't know WHO it is. And I'm still running. But I can smell everything, even TASTE things. Decomposing people does not smell nice, and its thick, and you can taste it. I woke up this morning and smelled it in my fucking room, at 5am in the morning, and I woke up Kara. She freaks out when I tell her, so I don't. She doesn't even like to hear about my searches. My mom knows I get nightmares sometimes but that's it. I can't tell my dad, even though he does stuff like I do, because he gets weird flashbacks himself and doesn't like to talk about it with me. I feel... insecure and kinda weak after them. That's why I freaked and just left. Plus I have two huge finals tomorrow, and I'm having trouble concentrating. I dont' know why I'm telling you guys all this, but it makes me feel a *little* better. I'll be around. I dont' know how much I can play tonight because I really have to study; that's why I'm trying to do now. So stop freaking out that its something you did, because its not. I just prefer not to have to talk about it (even though I just did, which confused me, but eh). That's it. Go back to posting. If you need me to post, IM or put something in here, and I'll see it. I'm just not really in the mood to talk about it too much. Sorry. |
