Emotions Legend
Asmodeus (Nov 14, 2002 12:15 p.m.): She muttered something at him as he approached, but he couldn't understand her. He sat down gingerly on the bed next to her, a worried frown on his face, and laid a hand on her shoulder. She cringed away from him and he pulled it back. Thoroughly bewildered and beginning to get worried, he tried to get a better look at her face. "...Kat?" "Just tired," she croaked. "Go away." He knew she hadn't been feeling well for the past week or so. He also knew better than to suggest she go to the doctor right away; Kat shared the aversion to the medical profession of almost everyone who'd been through Charybdis. That was one of the reasons he kept such an extensive medical store in his quarters...but those supplies were geared towards violent damage incurred by fighting or injury. He didn't have any diagnostic tools. She was curled into as tight a ball as she could manage, but he slipped his hand against her forehead despite her muffled sounds of complaint. She felt like she might be running a low-grade fever. That meant her body was trying to fight off some sort of virus or bacteria. It wasn't just a simple cold. He left her in the bed and stepped into the bathroom. The mirror was still steamed, and there was a faint scent of bile. His worry turned into full-fledged concern. Kat was sick. Kat was sick. Kat was going to the doctor. Leaving the little room and going back to the bed, he didn't try to move her again. He curled around her, though, and put his arms around her. Once he was close to her and felt how warm she was he discarded the idea of letting her sleep it off and go to the clinic in the morning. Kat was tough. If she was practically incapacitated, this had been going on long enough. "You're not just tired," he argued softly. "You're sick, Kitten. You need to see a doctor."
